Empact is thrilled to announce that our Executive Director, Jake Gillanders, has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Poulsbo Rotary Club. This prestigious recognition, the highest honor bestowed by Rotary International, was awarded to Jake on Friday in appreciation of Empact Northwest's significant contributions to fostering better understanding and friendly relations among people worldwide.
Jake is one of the few non-Rotarians ever to receive this honor from the Poulsbo Club, making this achievement even more remarkable. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges the outstanding work Empact has accomplished globally in training professional rescuers, developing emergency systems in underserved communities, and responding to disasters with our team of dedicated rescue, medical, and logistics professionals.
Upon accepting the award, Jake said, "None of us can do what all of us can do together. This honor isn't just for me—it's a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, and the countless donors who have made Empact's mission possible. The support we've received from the Poulsbo Rotary and other Rotary clubs throughout the years has been instrumental in our ability to serve communities in need around the world."
Jake's words remind us of the power of collaboration and the impact we can make when we join forces. From our beginnings in Haiti in 2010 to our current global operations, Empact Northwest has always relied on the support of our community to make a difference.
As we celebrate this recognition, we invite you to join us in our mission. Your support enables us to continue training emergency responders, preparing vulnerable communities for disasters, and providing crucial assistance when disaster strikes. Together, we can build a more resilient world.
