Empact’s Team #Belize is currently in the #Cayo District following up on our dispatcher training program, teaching incident command and management fundamentals to Belizean #responders, and meeting with local government officials and partners to prepare to launch the joint Belize rescue program.
#Emergency preparedness work is often seen as less flashy and urgent than #disaster response where the need is so high to provide direct relief; however, it is new emergency response systems like what we are currently putting in place with Trek Medics, the Belize National Fire Service, and Belize Heroes that will help to prevent these disasters from taking such a devastating toll in the first place.
