On September 1st of this year, Empact Northwest graduated our second Rescue Systems 1 course of 2021. Made up of 17 students representing 7 fire departments in the Puget Sound region, this course brings essential life saving training to communities throughout Western Washington state.
As always, this was another great group of students. Over 4 days, they worked hard and learned a ton about structural collapse and rope rescue from our and certified, experienced instructors. Topics covered included structural shoring to stabilize during a collapse event, rope lowering and raising operations, rappelling, and heavy lift using simple tools. All topics were taught to the NFPA 1006 and 1670 standards.
We look forward to seeing the next group of amazing students in spring 2022.
